Integrative counselling maintains the idea that there are many ways to explore and understand human psychology - no one theory alone holds the answer. All theories are considered to have value, even if their foundational principles contradict each other - hence the need to integrate them.
This approach encourages the infusion of a person's personality and needs. This means integrating the affective, behavioural, cognitive, and physiological systems within the individual, as well as addressing social and spiritual aspects of their systems.
Essentially, as an integrative psychotherapist, I am not only concerned with what works but why it works - tailoring therapy to the clients and not the clients to the therapy. As such, therapy is not about making choices for you but, rather empowering you to make choices that will help you move towards your goals and gain alternative perspective and cultivate an improved quality of life.
Relationship counselling known as ('couples counselling' or 'marriage counselling') is an effective form of talking therapy designed to help resolve issues within an intimate relationship. Very few relationships exist conflict-free - whether it’s the odd disagreement, repeatedly arguing or you’ve lost the fun element in your relationship - it’s natural to start to question its longevity. When this begins to falter, our health and happiness can also suffer.
For many of us, our first instinct is to try and work through the problems alone, but it can be incredibly helpful to seek outside support, whether it be through friends and family or even a professional. In contrast to counselling for relationship problems, which can be undertaken solely through individual sessions, couples counselling provides a safe space for two people within a relationship to talk.
I specialise in helping couples form and sustain healthy marriages & relationships, and in providing support in times of relationship difficulty. Healthy relationships make for healthier lives, more stable families, and a stronger society. I am ready to help, whatever your circumstances let’s have a chat.
Therapeutic coaching can help with a wide range of issues, such as stress, anxiety, burnout, physical health issues, low mood, low confidence, and low self-esteem.
Therapeutic coaching integrates key principles of somatic approaches to include developmental psychology, life coaching, Mindsight tools to transform your brain, Interpersonal Neurobiology, and mindfulness programme, to help you live healthier, happier, and more relaxed lives if counselling/psychotherapy is not your thing.

What can you expect? As a psychotherapist with 20 plus years of experience, this means that we can safely work at depth to tackle challenges and their precipitating factors. Like counselling the quality of the relationship between the coach and the client is significant. However, rather than meeting every week, coaching sessions are often longer than an hour, and more spread out. The sessions are more structured and directional and usually focus on a particular task and/or mindset you would like to change.
As your coach my aim is to help you do some quality, deep thinking. The sessions will be based around talking but also may involve exercises done on paper, white board, and on screen. Whiles the process might appear to be challenging you will be working in a non-judgmental space, and you will be fully respected with unconditional positive regard.
Clinical supervision provides a confidential, safe place for mental health professionals to explore their clients work in a supportive and collaborative environment with an experienced provider. Clinical supervision may also refer to ongoing consultation with and support from other mental health professionals, though the technical term for this is consultation, not supervision. For example, therapists in the same practice may consult with one another about difficult cases or regularly review one another’s work. Supervision can sharpen a therapist’s skills, encourage self-care, and help prevent burnout.
Therapists have an ethical duty to protect their clients’ best interests and provide quality therapy. Doing so can prove difficult. Clinical supervision allows you to develop strategies to enhance self-awareness and professional growth, gain perspective and insight in your clinical/professional work.
Supervision offers ongoing feedback from someone with more experience and skill. Rather than relying on vague principles from a textbook or classroom, you’ll get rapid feedback on real-world therapy dilemmas. Your supervisor can also provide insight into your personal style and guidance on how to sharpen your skills as well as how to adapt your style to the complex needs of diverse clients. As your supervisor, I aim to model safe ethical practice in line with the BACP Ethical Framework. Together the client is kept at the heart of our work as I support you in the development of your practice clinically, practically, and theoretically.
